Pirobouw<\/h1>\n

Pirobouw has been market leader<\/strong> in the production of light, insulating mortars<\/strong> and the associated raw materials<\/strong>since 1969: EPS granules and vermiculite. Polystyrene packaging waste<\/strong> (EPS) is recycled<\/strong> by Pirobouw as a raw material for insulation products. Vermiculite<\/strong> is an ore that is extracted in open mines and is expanded <\/strong>by Pirobouw at high temperatures.<\/p>\n

Our insulation products are durable<\/strong> and high-quality<\/strong> building materials that have been prominent in the demanding and continually evolving construction market for 50 years<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Pirobouw has also been a manufacturer of fire-resistant spray plasters<\/strong> since the early years.<\/p>\n

Pirobouw is a family business<\/strong>, started in 1969 by Wilfried Vermeiren in collaboration with J. Cipin. Together they developed the system of insulating mortars and later also the Pirotherm system. Twin brothers Jo & Kris Vermeiren took over the management of the company in 1997. EPS recycling<\/h1>\n

The climate, sustainable construction and the reduction of waste are much-discussed issues today. Pirobouw has been recycling<\/strong> EPS waste, collected through<\/strong> recycling parks, electrical tradesmen and the industry, since 2001.<\/p>\n

Vermiculite<\/h1>\n

Vermiculite is a natural mineral<\/strong>, a magnesium-iron-aluminium-silicate, which expands approximately 10x in volume when heated between 900 and 1200 degrees. This process of heating in which the granules are \u2018inflated\u2019, similar to making popcorn, is called expansion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Environmental awareness<\/h3>\n

Due to the\u00a0 lower weight than a sand-cement screed, the transport of insulating mortars is less burdensome to the environment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Additionally, when insulating mortars are installed, no gases<\/strong> are released that can be a nuisance or harmful to those handling the product or the environment.<\/p>\n\t

Reuse of EPS waste<\/h3>\n

Over 90% of the volume of Isobet\/Styrobet consists of recycled EPS granules<\/strong> from processed EPS waste.<\/p>\n

This means a reduction of the EPS dump<\/strong>; EPS waste is usually regarded as a problem waste that is often still incinerated.<\/p>\n\t

Protecting natural resources<\/h3>\n
